About Jacob
I am Jacob Slayton, a Marine Corps veteran, and I live here in Madison, Georgia. I started RiseTech Support so my neighbors and the small businesses around here have someone they can trust to come out, look them in the eye, and fix the problem.
Where I come from
I spent over six years in the United States Marine Corps keeping networks and computers running for thousands of people around the clock. As a Data Systems Supervisor, I managed servers, fixed hardware, set up user accounts, and made sure nothing stayed broken for long, no matter the hour.
After I left the service I went into technical support, helping customers with software and technology problems every day by phone, live chat and screen sharing. I closed thousands of support cases and kept a 96 percent quality rating, because I take the time to explain things clearly instead of handing people a list of steps they do not understand.
I am CompTIA A+ certified, the industry-recognized credential for computer hardware and support.
Why I do this
I kept hearing from neighbors and small business owners who needed someone to come out and sort out a computer problem without talking over their heads or charging them for things they do not need. So that is what I do. I come to you or help you remotely, whichever works best for you.
Whether your computer is running slow, something has stopped working, you need help with a printer or Wi-Fi, or you just want someone to walk you through it, I am the neighbor you can count on.
What you can expect
- I will never ask you for a password, and I will never ask for payment in advance.
- I will tell you the price before I start, and you pay after the visit.
- I will explain what I did in plain words, and write down anything you will need to remember.
- If you are not sure you need a visit at all, call me first. I would rather give you a straight answer than a bill.
